PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a deterioration of image quality due to unevenness of a static magnetic field that changes with time and to perform fat suppression stably, in fat suppression pulse combined dynamic photography. SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus has a block for measuring the unevenness of the static magnetic field and a pulse sequence controlling means comprising a block for performing frequency selective fat suppression and a block for performing regular photography. The block for measuring the unevenness of the static magnetic field measures two echo signals on an axis in a slice direction of regular photography at a certain time interval, and the block for performing frequency selective fat suppression excites the center frequency of a fat suppression pulse to an optimal value with regard to at least one slice on the basis of a static magnetic field distribution derived from phase maps of the two echo signals. With such a configuration, the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus can reduce the deterioration of image quality due to unevenness of a static field that changes with time and can perform fat suppression stably.
