摘要 <p>The internal combustion engine (10) has several sub-sections (16a,16b), a first unit (20) by which only the air flowing to the first sub-section (16a) can be throttled, and a second unit by which the oxygen concentration of air flowing to the first sub-section and/or its temperature can be increased. The second unit comprises an oxygen separating device (32) which divides the airflow into at least two partial flows (38) of which one is directed to the first sub-section of the engine with increased oxygen concentration. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method for the running of an internal combustion engine in which air reaches a first sub-section of the engine with an increased oxygen concentration and/or at higher temperature than in a second sub-section; (B) a computer programme programmed for use with the latter method for the running of an internal combustion engine; (C) an electrical storage medium for a control and/or governing unit (42) in a motor vehicle in a computer programme can be stored; and (D) a control and/or governing unit programmed for use in the aforesaid method.</p>
