The valve lever (1) has a main lever (2) and an auxiliary lever (8) respectively provided with receiving sections (11,12) for receiving a slide valve (13). The receiving sections are adjustably aligned at the complementary cam base portion (17) of a section of a socket (14) coaxial to the ring segments (18) at the inner side (19) of the shank (10) of the auxiliary lever. The bar-shaped main lever is linked to the auxiliary lever in adjustable alignment. The slide valve is arranged in shiftable manner for coupling and disconnecting the main and auxiliary levers to generate large and small valve strokes. An independent claim is also included for the switchable valve lever manufacture.
