IGNITION AGENT FOR GAS GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition agent for a gas generator by which the ignitability and the combustibility of a non-azide-based gas generating agent are improved while keeping high gasification rate.

SOLUTION: The gas generator 12 for a pretensionor is constituted of a combustion chamber 24 in which the gas generating agent 25 generating a gas by combustion is housed and an electric igniter 22 exhibiting ignition function to burn the gas generating agent 25 by energization. The gas generating agent 25 comprises the non-azide-based gas generating agent and is housed in the combustion chamber 24 so as to be mixed with the ignition agent 26. The ignition agent 26 is constituted so that the combustion rate of the ignition agent 26 becomes faster than the combustion rate of the non-azide-based gas generating agent 25.
