PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary anode type X-ray tube 1 of which manufacturing cost is reduced, and quietness and lifetime are improved. SOLUTION: In the rotary anode type X-ray tube 1, a cathode 2 and an anode 3 are covered and surrounded by a vessel portion 10 and the other end side in the axial direction of a rotating shaft 20 of which one end in axial direction the anode is fitted is protruded outside (for example, atmospheric space) from the vessel portion 10 that becomes in vacuum and high temperature. A rotating shaft drive mechanism 30 is installed at the other end side in axial direction of this rotating shaft 20 which protrudes outside. This rotating shaft 20 protruded outside from the vessel portion 10 is supported by the rotating shaft drive mechanism 30 through anti-friction bearings 40, 40 in free rotation. The shaft insertion portion 12 where the rotation shaft 20 is penetrated in the vessel portion 10 is sealed tightly by a seal portion 50 using a fluid metal 51. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
