PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording apparatus performing recording so that recorded time code is not made discontinuous even when an input video signal and an input time code are not synchronized with each other. SOLUTION: The video recording apparatus has a detecting means 7 detecting whether a value obtained by subtracting a directly last time code from a present time code in a time code changed in the timing of a reference time code is in the range of 0 to 2 when video images are picked up using a plurality of pickup devices and the time code is changed in the timing of the reference time code generated by a time code generator and recorded together with the video images and a time code correcting means 8 correcting the present time code to a time code formed by adding +1 to the directly last time code when the value is in the range of 0 to 2 and letting the present time code to be as it is when the value is in a range other than the range of 0 to 2.
