PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor which is stabilized in any rotation range and can prevent a shaft from running out. SOLUTION: The reproducing and recording apparatus for an information recording disk drives to rotate a disk by the spindle motor. A flat surface part right-angled to the rotary shaft of the spindle motor and a cylindrical part parallel to the above rotary shaft are formed, and the cylindrical part is fixed to the rotary shaft in one body, and comprises a rotor part provided with driving magnets on an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part, a core made of a magnetic material, a coil wound around the core, a cylindrical bearing housing with a bearing arranged inside and the core fitted outside, and a stator part consisting of a base part for supporting the bearing housing, and a magnetized area and a non-magnetized area are formed symmetrical with respect to the straight line of the pickup operation, a biasing magnet is attached to the stator part so as to face the flat surface part.
