PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error analyzer which performs error inspection of a recording medium at a low cost, appropriately manages the result of the data analysis and can effectively utilize same for quality control and the like. SOLUTION: The EFM signal recorded to a CD for music reproduction is not decoded by a decoder IC like heretofore, but by software mounted on a CPC 170. More specifically, the modulation data read out of the CD 110 is accumulated in a hard disk device 160 and thereafter, the modulation data is subjected to an error analysis by the software decoder of the CPC 170. The result of the error analysis is stored together with main channel data and subcode data, etc., of the main channel constituting the music data into the hard disk device 180.
