PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for spectacles which has fine patterns of a wide variety generating moires and can fully meet the needs of today's market. SOLUTION: The material for spectacles composed of a resin plate P is constituted, by embedding at least two pattern surfaces 1a and 1b regularly having a number of slits apart spaced intervals in the thickness direction of the resin plate P into the resin plate P in such a way as to generate the moires. The moires are generated by the two pattern surfaces 1a and 1b, and the shading of the patterns is changed by the angles and directions at and in which the patterns are viewed. The pattern surfaces 1a and 1b are, preferably the pattern surfaces composed of a number of parallel lines or dots and are provided with regularity with a number of the slits between the number of the parallel lines or the slits.
