PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a heat exchanger plate, and to improve insulation effectiveness to the microplate peripheral end. SOLUTION: In this incubation device for specimen analysis equipped with a heating/cooling means 10 and the heat exchanger plate 12 placed on the heating/cooling means, the microplate P is mounted on a mounting stand 12A formed on the heat exchanger plate, and a specimen supplied beforehand into a plurality of wells W formed on the microplate is heated or cooled. The device has a constitution wherein a heat insulating wall 16 wherein the inside end side is in contact with the heat exchanger plate 12 and the outside end is extended furthermore upward than the mounting stand 12A is formed from a graphite sheet 18 which is a highly heat-conductive material having a higher heat conductivity than the material of the heat exchanger plate around a mounting stand 16A of the heat exchanger plate.
