NANO-COMPOSITE THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a nano-composite thermoplastic resin composition having an excellent mechanical property. SOLUTION: The nano-composite thermoplastic resin composition comprises a 100 pts.wt. base polymer comprised of 10-80 wt% graft copolymer containing a rubber modified styrene and 20-90 wt% copolymer containing styrene and a 0.01-10 pts.wt. layered silicate which is intercalated by using a water-soluble intercalant selected from the group consisting of alcohols, ketones and saccharides. The composition is excellent in mechanical properties because the base polymer of the composition contains a layered silicate dispersed therein using a water-soluble intercalant whose affinity with the base polymer is excellent.
