INSECT-PROOF NET FOR SCREEN DOOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

An insect-proof net extendable like an accordion, having excellent flat surface retainability and strength against wind pressure, and allowing smooth bending operation for extension/retraction in opening/closing operations. Net base bodies (3) divided by pleats (4) and alternately folded in opposite directions are knitted in a lattice structure by raschel knitting by using sheath-core structural yarns (6) in which the peripheral surfaces thereof are covered with a low melting point resin and fiber bundles (7) formed by binding easily foldable synthetic resin fibers. The net base bodies are knitted by using the sheath-core structural yarns as main bodies so that weft yarns formed of only the fiber bundles can be disposed between only warps at the side ends of the adjacent net base bodies, and the sheath-core structural yarns are welded to each other by the hot melting of the low melting point resin to provide the flat surface retainability to the net base bodies.
