<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of conventional pseudo stereo signal generating apparatuses that produce unclear and unnatural sound images in the Lauridsen method, and cause deterioration in a listening sense in the system for respectively applying different processes to divided signal bands because the system generates direct and reflection sounds and results in producing excessive reflection sounds from an input signal if it includes a reflection sound and require an upsized apparatus scale because of provision of a plurality of sound image localizing means. <P>SOLUTION: A pseudo stereo signal generating apparatus disclosed herein includes: a low pass filter for extracting a low frequency component of an input signal; a high pass filter for extracting a high frequency component of the input signal; an uncorrelation means for applying uncorrelation to an output signal from the low pass filter to obtain a low frequency uncorrelation signal: a first adder for noninvertingly summating the output signal from the low pass filter, the low frequency uncorrelation signal, and the output signal from the high pass filter and providing an output of the sum; and a second adder for summating the noninverting output signal from the low pass filter, the inverted low frequency uncorrelation signal and the inverted output signal from the high pass filter and providing an output of the sum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
