PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrostatic discharge protection device where voltage change to low impedance can be stabilized and a protection function operates on low voltage. SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes 3 and 4 which are disposed through a gap 2 and are insulated by the gap 2 and carbon nanotubes 8 projected from the surface of the gap 2-side of at least one electrode 3 are installed in the electrostatic discharge protection device 1 for setting a charge generated by electrostatic discharge free. Thus, the carbon nanotubes 8 are used as field emission elements of a spark gap. Consequently, the electrostatic discharge protection device 1 can be supplied whose cost is made low, in which voltage change to low impedance can be stabilized, and in which the protection function operates on low voltage.
