PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding contact component that can be used for a long time with performance not only of a high electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity but also with lubricity. SOLUTION: The sliding contact component having a relative density not less than 80% comprises a contact material containing polytetrafluoroethylene as a lubricant, silver, inevitable impurity, and 0.3 to 3.0 mass% of the lubricant. The contact material further contains a total amount of 0.3 to 10.0 mass% of an additive or additives consisting of at least one component selected from graphite, Ni, Cu, NiO, SnO<SB>2</SB>, In<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, CuO, MoO<SB>3</SB>, ZnO, TeO<SB>2</SB>, or Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>.
