PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein ripple-shaped alignment disorder is generated and the time for recovering for displaying is required, when a panel surface is pressed, in an MVA-type liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: A pixel electrode of the MVA type liquid crystal display is formed in a line shape of sub pixel electrodes 3a and cross-shaped slits 2 as alignment regulating objects are provided at a common electrode on a counter substrate side. Columnar spacers 4 are provided on a signal line 5 of a TFT substrate so as to be consistent with positions of specific points of alignment of liquid crystal molecules 6 generated in a display region. By providing the cross-shaped slits 2 and columnar spacers 4, when the panel surface is pushed, alignment of the liquid crystal molecules 6 is rearranged at the specific points of +1 generated at centers of the cross-shaped slits 2 as base points in the display region and alignment of the liquid crystal molecules 6 is promptly rearranged at the specific points of +1 generated in the vicinities of the columna spacers 4 as base points on the signal line 5.
