PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair capable of assisting the standup motion of a user with a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: A seat frame 11 is arranged between two body frames 10 of a seat 2. The seat frame 11 is rotatable around a pivot 12. One end section of a crank member 30 is connected to a pivot 21 of a backrest frame 20 of a backrest section 3, and the other end section of the crank member 30 is connected to a bracket 33 arranged below the seat frame 11 via a seat connecting arm 31. The bracket 33 is rotatable around a pivot 35. A roller 36 for supporting the seat frame 11 is mounted on the bracket 33. When the backrest frame 20 stands up, a tip section 20a pushes the crank member 30 backward to move the seat connecting arm 31, the crank member 33 is rotated, and the roller 36 pushes up the rear side of the seat frame 11. As a result, the seat 2 inclines simultaneously with an inclining movement of the backrest section 3 to assist the standup motion of the user. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
