<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display apparatus capable of enhancing the utilization of light. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the video display apparatus using a light source constituted of a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements, and superposing light beams of respective semiconductor light emitting elements on a video display element through a lens array-based integrator optical system, the video display apparatus is provided with the light source constituted of the plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements, a parallelizing means constituted of a plurality of cell lenses arranged in accordance with the plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements, the video display element for forming an optical image, a pair of lens array groups arranged between the parallelizing means and the video display element, and a projecting means for enlarging the optical image formed by the video display element and projecting the enlarged image, and the plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements are arranged on nearly the focal point of the cell lens constituting the parallelizing means, and the video display apparatus is constituted so as to have at least two kinds of semiconductor light emitting groups whose light beams on the optical axis exist on a straight line different from the optical axis of the lens array group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
