PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information communication apparatus and an information communication system capable of automatically conducting optimal communication according to a communication environment or the number of information communication apparatus without a help by an operator. SOLUTION: A node 101 constituting a communication network with a server comprises a packet analysis portion 105 for analyzing a packet received at a communication portion 103 and switching a flooding communication scheme and a multi-hop P2P communication scheme, a timer 107 which is reset when the packet is received by the flooding communication scheme, and a server communication portion 106 for informing to a server 201 of performing packet transmission and reception by the multi-hop P2P communication scheme during the timeout of the timer. A communication scheme suitable for a communication environment during software update can be obtained by the combination of the flooding communication scheme and the multi-hop P2P communication scheme between the server and the node.
