PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time period for printing and to prevent variation in printing when printing even on an edge portion of a medium. SOLUTION: This printer comprises an ink ejection section for ejecting ink toward a medium, a plurality of groove sections for collecting the ink ejected therefrom, a conveyance mechanism for conveying the medium in a predetermined direction, a controller for printing on the medium even on the edge portion by alternately performing the ejection operation of the ink by means of the ink ejection section and the conveyance operation by a predetermined conveyance amount by means of the conveyance mechanism, and a support section which is provided between the groove sections and is adapted to support the medium.
