PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material feeder keeping the feed speed as it is after forming a nip, and feeding the sheet material to the inclined surface of an inclining member and a nip forming part at a lower speed, thereby reducing collision sound and flick sound of various sheet materials by making a feed roller and a separation/feed roller different in rotation and an image forming apparatus including it. SOLUTION: This sheet material feeder includes: a feeding means 19 brought into pressure contact with the sheet materials 2 accumulated on a sheet material loading member 1 to deliver the sheet materials to a separating part; and the inclining member 6 having the inclined surface 9 which the leading end in the delivery direction of the sheet material 2 runs against, wherein the sheet materials 2 delivered to the separating part are separated from each other by the inclined surface 9 of the inclining member 6 and the nip forming part. The feeding means 19 is a second roller 19 coming into contact with the leading end in the feeding direction of the sheet material 2 raised by the rotation of the sheet material loading member 1 to feed the sheet material 2, and the separating/feeding means 4 is the separation/feed roller 4, the outer peripheral surface of which abuts on the inclined member 6.
