PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inspecting the contour of the edge of a cutout formed in a disc 200 for admitting a turbine blade 220 in the fixed condition. SOLUTION: A first device 12 admits the disc 200 including the cutout, while a second device 14 has a sensor related to the movement of an apparatus, wherein the disc 200 received by the first device 12 is fixed in the specified spatial relationship relative to the sensor. The disc 200 is fixed to the first device 12, while the apparatus is led along the cutout which decides a path approximately parallel with the contour surface, and the condition of the apparatus is kept contacting physically with the contour surface. The sensor transmits the signal associated with the movement to an algorithm, and the signal is converted into the two-dimensional position along the tangential path (axis of the point of tangency) alongside the surface contour. The admissibility of the edge contour of the cutout is judged through comparison of the two-dimensional position with the value within the prescribed range. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
