PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder block structure suppressing deformation of a cylinder bore. SOLUTION: In this cylinder block structure for an internal combustion engine, an approximately cylindrical cylinder liner 3 is provided, and a plurality of vertical ribs 9 extending along the cylinder liner axis direction are projectingly formed on the outer peripheral face of the cylinder liner 3. The vertical ribs 9 are provided on the outer peripheral face of the cylinder liner 3 in the vicinity of cylinder head bolt mounting holes 8 of a cylinder block main body 2. The length of each of the vertical ribs 9 along the cylinder liner axis line direction is set at least approximately equal to the length of each of the cylinder head bolt mounting holes 8 along the cylinder liner axis line direction.
