A carrier 1 in the form of an extendable mechanical arm, for various recording means such as cameras, microphones, sensors etc. The arm is equipped at one end with a moveable mount 3 and at the other end is a movable handle 5, the mount and handle are spaced apart from each other by a fixed linkage arm 7. Movement applied to the handle 5 is transferred to the mount 3 via universal joints 8, 10 at each end of the linkage arm 7, the universal joints actuated in unison by connecting cables 9, movement of the handle 5 therefore results in an opposite movement of the mount 3. The carrier 1 can be hand held and may have a second handle 6 connected to the linkage arm 7 to allow the carrier to be held in both hands and to promote the overall stability of the assembly. Alternatively the linkage arm 7 may be attached to the operator to allow single handed operation. |
