Method for generating an electronic document from scanned image data in which image data is stored in an electronic memory, a first group of image data stored in pages and a second group of overlay image data are assigned to each other in the ratio 1:n or m:1, so that at least one overlay is assigned to one page and n and m are integers greater than 2. The invention also relates to a corresponding print system, computer and computer program for implementation of the method.
