An automotive power transmission system has a an indexing unit with three end-stops located above a pressure bar and the commensurate detent in the syncromesh body syncromesh gear linking the drive shaft with gearbox. The syncromesh has an indexing unit with three end-stops located above a pressure bar and the commensurate detent in the syncromesh body. The bar locates in and engages with both the syncromesh body and the outer ring, effecting the required indexing action for the outer ring and entire frictional system relative to the syncromesh body and hub.
