#CMT# #/CMT# Basis material is injected into a mould (1, 2) containing a decorative film with a release layer in contact with the inside of the mould tool. #CMT# : #/CMT# A method for producing a decorated product comprises injecting the product basis material into a mould and applying the decoration using a heat transfer film. A film comprising a release layer and a transferable decorative layer is placed inside the mould before injecting the basis material, so that the release layer is in contact with the inside of the mould tool and the basis material comes into contact with the decorative layer. The moulded product is cooled, removed from the mould and the release layer is removed from the product, either by removing the product so that the release layer remains inside the mould or by removing release layer from the product after it has been removed from the mould. The basis material comprises ABS, polystyrene or any other amorphous plastic or mixtures thereof. The decorative layer comprises a material compatible with the basis material.
