The invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology. In the invention there is described use of xenon or xenon-containing gaseous mixtures for treatment of neurointoxications. In particular, the invention refers to the use of xenon in those cases when neurointoxication is caused by an excess of neuromediators. The xenon can reduce the release neuromediators, first of all of dopamine, caused by hypoxia, for example by apoplexy or craniocerebral trauma.
