The carpet has slots (42) which are placed at behind holes (40) traversed by a fixed unit formed by screws (18). The slots permit the displacement of the carpet with respect to the fixed unit in case of impact and are connected to the holes. The screws are engaged in the slots, when the traction on a carpet portion (20) covering a zone (32) of a covering material is greater than a preset threshold. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle having a floor covering fitting arrangement.
