IN A CONVENTIONAL ELECTRICAL COMPONENT OF THE TYPE WHICH IS EQUIPPED WITH A MOUNTING PLATE, THE MOUNTING LEGS FOR MOUNTING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT TO A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD OR THE LIKE ARE FORMED BY BENDING A PORTION OF THE MATERIAL OF THE MOUNTING PLATE WHICH IS LARGER THAN THE OUTER DIMENSION OF THE MOUNTING PLATE FROM THE OUTER TO THE INNER SIDE, RESULTING IN A RATHER POOR MATERIAL YIELD. WHEN THE MOUNTING LEGS ARE FORMED BY BENDING FROM THE OUTER TO THE INNER SIDE WITHIN THE RANGE OF THE OUTER DIMENSION OF THE MOUNTING PLATE IN ORDER THAT THE MATERIAL YIELD MAY NOT BE INFLUENCED, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE MOUNTING LEGS BECOMES SMALL, SO THAT A PLAY IS INVOLVED WHEN THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT IS MOUNTED TO A CIRCUIT BOARD OR THE LIKE. IN THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION, THE MOUNTING LEGS (11D) ARE FORMED BY CUTTING, RAISING AND BENDING A PORTION OF THE MOUNTING PLATE (11) FROM THE INNER TO THE OUTER SIDE IN A BIPARTING-DOORS-LIKE FASHION, WHEREBY AN IMPROVEMENT IS ACHIEVED IN TERMS OF THE MATERIAL YIELD OF THE MOUNTING PLATE (11). FURTHER, SINCE THE ABOVE-MENTIONED MOUNTING LEGS (11D) CAN BE FORMED CLOSE TO ONE END (11 M) AND THE OTHER END (11 N) OF THE MOUNTING PLATE (11), IT IS POSSIBLE TO INCREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO MOUNTING LEGS (11D) WITHOUT CHANGING THE MATERIAL YIELD OF THE MOUNTING PLATE (11), WHEREBY IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOUNT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT TO A CIRCUIT BOARD OR THE LIKE IN A STABLE MANNER WITHOUT INVOLVING ANY PLAY.
