The tool for separating pipes or placing them together has loops (5) of steel strip which are placed around the pipes. The size of the loops is adjusted by wing nuts (3) mounted on threaded rods (4). The pipes are brought together or separated by rotating a nut (2) connecting two bolts on the ends of which the loops are mounted.
