A method of producing a linear motor, in which a soft magnetic body (70) is provided around a pipe-like member (11) when magnets (12) are arranged in the pipe-like member (11), the magnets (12) are linearly arranged in the pipe-like member (11) such that the same polarity of adjacent magnets (12) faces each other, the magnets (12) are fixed from the ends of the pipe-like member (11), the soft magnetic body (70) is then removed to form a stator (10), and a mover (20) is movably provided on the outer peripheral surface of the stator (10). The magnets can be easily assembled without using a special tool into the pipe-like member having a low cost structure with a reduced number of parts.
