Vitamin D derivatives of general formula (1) wherein X represents oxygen or sulfur; R11represents saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbyl which may be substituted by hydroxyl or protected hydroxyl, or -COR12(wherein R12represents alkyl, aryl or alkoxyl); R2represents -OR9or hydrogen; and R9and R10each represent hydrogen or hydroxyl; a process for producing them; intermediates for them; and medicines characterized by containing them.
