The food container has a slider (5) with fasteners for latching a cover (4) to a bowl (1). The fasteners create contact pressure between the cover and the edge of the bowl. The bowl comprises of a base and sidewalls (2,3). A soft flexible sealing material is provided at the edge of the bowl for secure connection with the cover.
