A switch device (X) has, as sensing means for sensing an operation input by a user, a first electrode (11), an elastic plate-like member, and a second electrode (12) facing the first electrode (11). The first electrode (11) is switchable between a first stable attitude at which it is urged to its input release position and a second stable attitude at which it is urged to its input position. Further, an operation member (17) is provided. After the attitude of the first electrode is changed from the first stable attitude to the second stable attitude, the operation member (17) applies an operation force to the first electrode (11) to return it from the second stable attitude to the first stable attitude.
