The invention relates to a cable connector (1) compris­ing a housing with a base (2) substantially extending between a front side (3) and a rear side (4) of said connector (1) and a first housing part (7) mountable to said base (2) such that said first housing part (7) and a first portion (9) of said base (2) determine a cable passage configured to accommodate a ferrule arrangement (6) of a cable (5). The cable passage comprises at least one recessed portion (20) configured to receive a corre­sponding protrusion (35) of said ferrule arrangement (6) or vice versa. Accordingly a high density cable connector (1) is ob­tained with improved cable relief performance.
