Surface (A) of a solid support (B) for parallel analysis of many individual nucleic acids (NA) by optical methods. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) solid phase, as above, in which the surface shows reduced non-specific binding of labeled components; (2) methods for preparing (B); and (3) methods of parallel analysis of many NA by optical methods, using (B).
