<p>It is possible to improve visibility from a user while assuring safety in an information display device such as a head up display. A display information generation unit (12) generates, for example, image data where an arrow indicating the advance direction or an object such as a road sign is plotted and outputs the image data to a projector (13). Light ray (R1) corresponding to the image data is applied from the projector (13) to a combiner (14) and the reflection light of the light ray (R1) and a transmitting light of the external light (R2) are combined in the combiner (14) to be viewed by the user. Here, the display information generation unit (12) outputs a coordinate value indicating the display position of the object to a transmittance control unit (16). According to the coordinate value, the transmittance control unit (16) identifies a display area of the object and reduces the transmittance of the identified area in a light control panel (15), thereby reducing the transmittance amount of the external light (R2).</p> |
