Cosmetic compound for incorporation in pharmaceutical products for treatment of e.g. human skin, hair and nails

A cosmetic compound for the treatment of materials incorporating keratin incorporates a polypeptide sequence (i) in a cosmetic-compatible medium. The polypeptide sequence (i) has a binding affinity to human hair, nails and skin keratin. The polypeptide sequences are: SEQ ID NO: (a) 1 Positions 2193-2482; 2606-2871; a polypeptide sequence in which up to 60% of the amino-acids are changed with respect to (a); a polypeptide sequence in which up to 50% of the amino-acids are changed with respect to (b). An independent claim is also included for synthesis of the polypeptide sequence.
