The lamp has an excimer lamp body (23), a housing for accommodating the body and a partially transparent cover disc (28) for covering the body. The housing includes a stably formed frame unit (10) having an angular profile in step form. The profile has angular sections (22, 21) for accommodating body and disc, respectively. A narrow air gap (29) of 1 to 5 millimeter is provided between the body and the cover disc for heat dissipation.
