CAP TIP REMOVING DEVICE OF WELDING MACHINE

A cap tip removing device of a welding machine for removing a cap tip fitted on the front end of the shank of a resistance welding machine. The device includes the following constituent elements. (1) A pawl (6) consisting of a fixed pawl (6a) extending orthogonal to the axis of a shank (S) and closely contacting the lower end of the shank (S), and a movable pawl (6b) forming a pair with the fixed pawl (6a) disposed at the front end of a lever-operated lever (5) and closely contacting the upper end of a cap tip (T). (2) A drive section (3) for moving the pawl (6) into a space between the shank (S) and the cap tip (T). (3) A turning mechanism operatively connected to the drive section (3) to push down the movable pawl (6b) and turn the lever (5) so as to separate the cap tip (T) from the shank (S).
