487,900. Charging trucks into mine cages etc.; operating doors and gates. INTERNATIONAL COMBUSTION, Ltd., DAVIDSON, G. W., and HERBERT, S. L. Feb. 11, 1937, No. 4111. [Classes 78 (iv) and 104 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] To charge trucks, corves, and the like into mine cages and handle them in other similar loading operations, and also to operate doors and gates, a pivoted pusher 3 is carried by a block 4 connected to a pair of guided chains 8 passing over a sprocket 9 preferably driven from a reversible electric motor through a slipping friction clutch. The ends of the chains are preferably loose instead of being connected to form endless chains. The side walls of the guide channels for the chains may be omitted, and cross-bars used to space the chains apart. To operate sliding doors, the member 3 is fixed to the block 4 and connected also to the door. For operating hinged doors the member 3 is connected by a ball-and-socket joint to a rod which is also pivoted to the door. |
