A portable telephone (1) has an input section (2), a display control device (3), an LCD (4), and a data storage section (8). The display control device (3) has an input reception section (5) for distributing processing according to input from the input section (2), a focus position control section (6) having a function of moving a focus position according to the input from the input section (2) and a function of detecting a focus position in a displayable region, a data acquirement section (7) for acquiring a file name list according to a processing demand of the input reception section (5) and reading thumbnail information received in a specified file name, an image processing section (9) for extending the acquired thumbnail information to acquire a thumbnail image, and a display processing section (10) for making the acquired thumbnail information displayed in a displayable region other than the focus position detected by the focus position control section (6).
