A drive system for a window lifter in a vehicle has the bottom support rail of the window pane mounted on grips (4) which slide on two near vertical guide rails (3). The grips are made in two section joined by flexible tags and slots to enable the two sides of the grips to flex and enable the window pane to follow the contours of the window guides, i.e. to enable the window pane to tilt with the vehicle contours.
