The motor vehicle (1) operating device (4) has a touch screen (2) on which an operating field can be displayed, whereby a parameter of the vehicle can be varied by stroking over the operating field. The length of a stroking movement across the screen is a measure of the variation of the parameter. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an inventive device.
