SEPARATOR FOR FUEL CELL USING AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL AS BASE MATERIAL
摘要
Disclosed is a separator for fuel cells using austenitic stainless steel as the base material wherein a nitrided layer is formed in a surface which is in contact with an oxygen electrode or a collector on the oxygen electrode side. Such a separator for fuel cells wherein the nitrided layer contains a compound phase composed of a solid solution wherein at least a part of Fe in an Fe4N crystal is substituted by Cr and Ni is excellent in corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and durability.
