CHAIR-TYPE MASSAGE MACHINE AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING PIVOT POSITION OF LEG PLACEMENT SECTION OF THE MASSAGE MACHINE

[PROBLEMS] A chair-type massage machine in which operation of a massage function can be reliably stopped when a leg placement section is outside a predetermined normal position. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A chair-type massage machine (C) having a seat base section (1), a leg placement section (10) which is pivotally connected to the seat vase section (1), which can be separated from a floor surface while being positioned in front of the seat base section (1), and on which user's legs can be placed, and a backrest section (20) provided at the rear section of the seat base section (1). The chair-type massage machine (C) further has an attitude control mechanism (30) and a pivot position detection device (60). The attitude control mechanism (30) holds the leg placement section (10) in a predetermined attitude when the leg placement section (10) is in front of the seat base section (1) and makes the leg placement section (10) pivotable when a load greater than a predetermined load is applied to the leg placement section (10). The pivot position detection device (60) detects the pivot of the leg placement section (10) and, when the leg placement section (10) is outside a predetermined pivot position, stops a massage function that the chair-type massage machine (C) has.
