Switching device for exhaust gas recirculation in an internal combustion engine

The device has a changeover element and a distributor for selective feed of exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe into an exhaust cooler and a bypass. The changeover element is hollow and has a rotary axis to permit its pivot movement. This gives continuous adjustment of exhaust gas feed into cooler (11) and bypass (12). The rotary axis is concentric to the exhaust pipe (3). The hollow element has an exhaust gas intake in the base and an outlet in its longer side surface. It is located in the distributor (13).
