Method and device for message transmission

The method involves exchanging messages via an adapter between the central station(s) and the terminal depending on at least one specification of the terminal or the central station(s). The adapter matches at least one message transfer property, e.g. data type, data format or transmission mode, to the terminal or central station specification(s). An independent claim is also included for an adapter for implementing the method.
