Rear suspension for passenger vehicle with driven rear wheels

The rear wheel suspension system for cars comprises an upper transverse control arm (5), a lower transverse control arm (7), a compensating transverse control arm and a longitudinal connecting rod (11). These are all connected to the wheel mounting (13), together with an auxiliary support frame (15) attached to the chassis. The lower control arm is mounted behind the axis (17) of the wheel, the upper arm in front of the lower arm and the wheel mounting is supported by a spring (19) attached to the lower arm and a shock absorber (21). The compensating control arm is mounted in front of the shock absorber and all the control arms are attached to the auxiliary frames. Each wheel has its own driving shaft section (27, 27') between the upper and lower control arms and the shock absorber is attached to the lower arm. An independent claim is included for r4ear axles fitted with the suspension system.
